JABONGGA - The Legit Misfitz story

  

  With iconic hits like JABONGGA, AIR TSINELAS and LOTTO, Legit Misfitz is one of the most recognizable rap group in the Philippines during the so called Golden Era of Rap. Got a chance to have a quick chat with Dash Calzado of Legit  Misfitz and talked about the genesis of the group and how was the industry back then compared to now and what to look forward for the sons of Flip Hop. Now sit back, relax and let me take you to a trip down memory lane.

CHUCKY:

Good morning Dash, first of all thank you for the opportunity and its an honor po. First question is how did Legit Misfitz started ..a little bit of history of your friendship with Jhego that became one of the most recognizable name in Filipino Hip Hop or as you would like to call.. "Flip Hop" 

DASH:  

   I met Jhego through Boom Dayupay who at that was Boom! before Kulay. They were guests during Francis M's radio show "Word Up!" On 89 DMZ I used hang out kasi dun sa station. It just so happened that Boom is from Canada and so was I, Jhego at that time was their dancer (he had the Kid n Play Hi top fade vibe back then) so from then I became cool with the guys then at that time I helped out Boom make some design for some shirts then Jhego in his spare time would listen to a lot of Hiphop and write rhymes. I was already writing as well I guess from that moment on Boom figured out why not form a group. So that's when me and Jhego became close, hanging out at my place he'd sleep over then we got a few of his boys to be our dancers and became part of the crew and then how we all got closer and started practicing rhymes and stuff I thought him a couple of stuff as well. We'd go to clubs like Heartbeat, Jaloux, Ozone (that club that got burned down and left people dead cuz they were trapped inside) (90s clubs in QC) even areas in Recto like Campus Bubbles afternoon disco stuff. So yeah we'd roll as a unit and always hung out at crib which actually was my dad's Office cuz it was bungalo type house and had rooms and Dance Studio so that's our crew would practice as well.

  So fast forward after a year of being focused with our songs our mentor Boom got us signed with Octo Arts then we recorded our album at the now defunct Greenhills Sounds Studios for a week and here's a little trivia to share some Pinoy Hiphop history while we were recording Sons Of Flip Hop, Francis M was recording his album Freeman as well. We had a small studio he had the main ones with the band set up so it was big. We'd visit each other and take a peak of what we were all doing. It was fun hanging out with the master rapper. But yeah I guess my friendship with Jhego is a bit different cuz we're like the Odd Couple like that old movie but when it comes to the artistry we compliment each other well vocally and were hype on stage haha. Flip Hop is just Filipino Hip Hop basically as we fused in the pinoy culture with the Hip Hop culture just the vibe the lyrics the style the concept and all we had to make sure it really had a touch of pinoy because I rap in english and tagalog but Jhego mostly raps in tagalog along with that boom bap style and all that Boom made. The name Legit Misfitz came from one Boom's floppy disk labels and it read

 "Legitimate Misfit" so we just "mate" part and added a Z on the misfit and low and behold ...

CHUCK:

  Back in 1994 after the release of “Sons of Fliphop" , songs Trapik, Air Tsinelas

and my all time favorite Jabongga became instant classics and Legit Misfitz became a household name. How did it feel that you guys got a breakthrough that fast and that big.

DASH:

  Well we all felt like "Yo this is it!". It was whole different ballgame na cuz before the album came out all we did was like test the waters get used to doing shows like our first ever performance was at a small school to our biggest was Boom na Boom with the rest of the other groups like Mastaplann, Death threat, 4 East Flava, Denmark, Boom, Jeannie, and Radha would come out first and perform this was the birth of Kulay na after BOOM! Then Boom would introduce us after thier performance cuz we were the unit at that time and that Boom being our producer and the one behind all this being the "Originator" and us the "Sons" of Flip Hop...

  So now forward to around 94 to 95 yeah things were going great at that time signed to a major label started doing TV and radio apperances mall tours out of town shows i can remember one time inside a jeepney on my way somewhere the driver was tuned in to 89DMZ and there was like a segment called OPMs in a row and after 2 songs came ours and i was like "oh snap that's our song" intro pa lang it had that swing already and then I heard the driver say okay to ah and the passengers inside were kinda either bobbing thier head or tapping thier feet and hearing our voices on the radio was mind boggling as in "is this really us man???!!" . But yeah we ended up doing a movie with Ogie Alcasid, Michael V ,Rannie Raymundo called Beachboys "pwera biro mahal kita". That was quite an experience and it only took us 3 weeks to finish the shoot hehe i even did an episode on Tito Joe DeMango's Love Notes my leading lady was Lailani Navarro with Michael Locsin and Ara Mina I was the lead role and the episode was entitled "TABA" (cuz i was big back then) we even did show for the candidates nun elections in 1995 kasabayan namin Eraserheads nun that was dope all of this I mentioned was something that me and Jheg's will cherish in our hearts and minds milestone na sya we have accomplished such dreams of being there and actually doing it humbles the heart. But we wont stop we wont quit we still keep it Legit to this day even if we do separate projects were still reppin it and when we get together whether shows or just kick were the same old Gs from the Golden Era. Everday is Golden to us no matter what we just keep on shining God has blessed us with the Gift. Its right that we keep on doing it. Thank you to our mentor Boom and the rest cuz life is a learning experience. with Succsess there's it's share of Ups and Downs but we get back up and face the music

  Such humility, so refreshing to hear that after all the success you guys have achieved , you both managed to remain humble and thankful for everything. You mentioned “the Golden era”,it was a fun time to be a fan and probably much more as an artist. After Sons of Fliphop you guys released more albums “Ekis Pinoy (Bahala Na Generation), “Balik sa Lumang Eskwela” and “100 Porsyento” and you were able to collaborate with different artists, sino yung pinaka paborito mong artist sa lahat na naka collaborate mo noon at artist back then that you would love to work with?

DASH:

  Ive been working on music and beatmaking lately with my beats of the Northstar production working with artists like Lunch money project my boy Deelet MKnocks (doing a remix of Bolos) and will continue to do so, working with Baker Boys too.This has been my calling and just share my gift. I look up to my influences producers like DJ Premier Pete Rock, The late JDilla Jake One Alchemist etc. Locally DJ Arbie Won, Lowkey ,Caliph8, Rye, Johnny Krush, Artstrong that's the foundation but there are a lot awesome producers and beat makers today. And since day one Chrizo, BRoc, Pino G ,Klumcee, Konfused and more sprining up like Solomon Stark, Cursebox ,Markbeats, Alas ng Beats which is great because we need more producers. We gotta get our stuff heard worldwide. Im working with such greats like Snowgoons who I think is one of favorite Prod crew Shout outs to DJ Illegal, Sicknature, Dat Gunner and to Andre for making it possible. We international haha from collabs with Thaitanium Beatmathics track to doing a track with one of my idols Donald D a legendary Emcee from the Bronx and part of Ice T's Rhyme $yndicate Posse back in the late 80s early 90s we did a track called PI to BX which came out on my Return Of the Phunky Juan project album. (Oh the album is still on OPM2GO)

CHUCK:

  With the renewed interest to mainstream and underground hip hop today..mainly because of the internet.. How do you compare hip hop acts then to now and fans as well?

DASH:

  Well social media has made a lot of difference in regards of reaching out vice versa artist and fans. Unlike before through word of mouth TV or radio or mall tours before. That's why we were more visible that way before cuz there wasnt social media avenues like instagram twitter or FB. So if kung makita ka noon, sabik silang makita ka. But with youtube and all the other stuff it just makes it easier and accessable for everyone to interact na lang. But yeah its mind racking what this modern day technology world is thats why id rather just stay home work on my music and not think about a lot of things.

  Its a numbers game nowadays the more likes the more you gain whatever cuz we can actually post anything an ordinary Joe who has a collection of whatever can be so famous now a days. Back in the days no-one ever had that privelage. We live in the information age now. Sometimes i want to just have an ordinary phone i dont have internet at home i dont watch TV at home.

CHUCK:

  After years of hiatus, you and Jhego released the music video of Jabonga which was positively received by today's fans and a flashback for every 90's hip hop heads. You also released your " Return of the Phunky Juan" project and with Jhego also being active yet again, are we seeing a new Legit Misfitz comeback album . How does it feels that you are doing again that thing you loved to do and this time a bit wiser because of time (age).

DASH:

  Return of the Phunky Juan came out before the Jabongga video. When we came out with Jabongga back in 1994 we never did a video for and since we celebrated our 20th anniversary nun 2014 we decided to come out w one with the help of Philippine All Stars they showed us a video of them using our track when we saw we said "hey let's just make this the official video.


CHUCK:

 With 1 mixxtape under his belt and a number of collaborations from Dongalo/Gotmic, lets hear from one of Dongalo's freestylist at ano masasabi nya about ...well anything :D

   Kamusta tol...una sa lahat salamat sa panahon pangalawa congrats at nakapag labas ka na ng mixxtape last year, ano pakiramdam na nakapag labas ka na ng sarili mong mixxtape at may bigatin ka pang kasama dun. 

Liljohn:

   Proud na proud kapatid syempre..iba ung pakiramdam kasi madaming taong makikinig ng mga pyesa kp awa ng Diyos at naubos ung lahat ng kopya kapatid.100 pesos each pero pag my tumatawad ng 50 pesos 1 binibigay ko na din kasi di naman cd ko ang tinatangkilik dun ang tinatangkilik nila dun ay ako..kaya nga sabe ko sa sarili ko ok lang kung di ako maging 1 magaling na rapper atleast alam kong mgaling ako na tao. 

CHUCKY:

   Nailabas mo yung mixxtape mo under Dongalo/Gotmic, pano ka naging affiliated sa kanila? 

Liljohn:

   Nung una tagasubaybay ako tlga ng Dongalo lahat ng gig at event pinupuntahan ko talaga kahit malayo. Lage ako sinasama ni Padrino nun kapitbahay ko lang kasi si Padrino of Kruzzada,di pa ako kilala ni kuya Drew nun nararating ko na house nila kada may kasiyahan sa tulong din ni Padrino,tapos napasama ako sa mga nixxtape ng Dongalo artists,mixxtape ni Mighty A. ,mixxtape ni kuya Charlie Mack ,tapos ayun naging Gotmic ako sa tulong ni Kuya Jawtee.tapos ngkaroon ng DRA2.nagpasa ako ng demo as a solo artist then sa 4 na category na nominate mga kanta ko kaya nanalo yung kanta kong "sorry kung baog ako" sa best comedy feturing x3throwsign..tie kami ni Dello nun..tapos nung gabi din na yun my freestyle battle nun nakapasok aqko sa top4 pero tinalo aq ni crazzy g ng pdk..tapos pagbaba ko ng entablado binulungan ako ni kuya Drew sabi nya sakin "dont wori kapatid kasama ka sa boracay" freestyle battle of the champions kami ni crazzy g ngharap sa finals ..tie ang kinalabasan..nakatsamba lang tlga skin yun hehehehe pero miss ko n uyng tao n a yun..tpos year 2010 naglabas ako ng mixxtape na si kuya Drew ang nagproduce..kya bilang 1 Dongalo artist iniingatan KO ung pangalan ng Dongalo iwas gulo.iwas basag ulo..kaya as of now busy ako sa bible study at fellowship hahaha !!!

CHUCKY:

   Bible study talaga tol no?? Hehehe..Pag dating sa RAP, ano ang Dongalo sa scene dito ng RAP sa bansa para sayo? 

Liljohn:

   Ahmmmm para sa akin kung rap ang paguusapan hindi pedeng hindi mapapasama ang salitang Dongalo ...Dongalo is the no.1 rap label in the Philippines ..aminin man o hindi ng mga anti Dongalo na yan..isa lng din pngarap ng mga yan, ang maging Dongalo soldiers kaso ayun cguro mga nainip kya pumasok sa iba..eto ang malupit na scene ng Dongalo sa bansa ntin...* Dongalo ang susi papuntang chanel 2 at chanel 7...* 

CHUCKY:

   No one can deny ang kasikatan ng Fliptop ngayon at talagang nakatulong sila sa pagbalik ng spotlight sa RAP dito sa pinas at pinag uusapan uli ang RAP. Bilang freestyler na tulad mo ano ang masasabi sa Fliptop. 

Liljohn:

   Fliptop? Laki talaga ng naitulong nila sa rap industry..tropa ko naman sina Dello,Target,Datu,Zaito,Silencer..mga nakaka text q sila ..ahmmm mababait naman sila tol pero bilang 1 totoong tao walang dahilan praa hangaan ko sila..kcasi alam naman ng lahat n scripted yun ..pero bilib ako kay dello kasi nagbabalik talga ng mga punchline yun na hindi scripted..sana dumating yung oras na maglaban laban kami pero syempre freestyle with topic.. 

CHUCKY:

   Astig..At nakaksama mo din sila zaito minsan sa mga show tama?? Eh dun sa mga tamang pahaging na tira sa Dongalo ng "ibang" mga kasali? 

Liljohn:

    Ah gaya nina smuglazz na ang ilong ay parang kasoy..mga betlog nun lawlaw..gusto lang nila siguro na mapagusapan pangalan nila kasi malabo na mapagusapan pangalan nila kung fliptop pag uusapan dahil my mga naunang sumikat na sa kanila ..for short tol wala silng kwenta..pinapanalangin ko tol na sana makaharap ko sila sa freestyle battle gaya ni smuglazz na ilong ay parang kasoy ,after ng battle namin kung sakaling matuloy isa lng sasabihin nun *AYOKO NA MAGRAP* 

CHUCKY:

   Lahat naman ng Rapper naging tagahanga din sa simula...ikaw sino ang mga hinangaan mo noon hanggang ngayon at masasabi mo "sila dahilan kaya ako rapper ngayon" 

Liljohn:

   Sa totoo lng madami ako hinahangaan unang una si kuya Drew na syang nagbigay sakin ng liwanag para matahak ko ito.pangalawa c kuya Jaw.pangatlo syempre Kruzzada at ang huling huli ang Dongalo family..na tumatayo bilang pangalawang kapatidko.

CHUCKY:

   Sino pang artist ang gusto mo makasama sa isang kanta? 

Liljohn:

  Kuya Drew syempre at si Padrino 

CHUCKY:

   Dumadami na naman ang mga "beef" dito sa Pinas... Sa tingin mo nakakatulong ba mga ganitong bagay sa paglago ng Rap dito sa bansa? 

Liljohn:

   Hindi tol... 

CHUCKY:

   Bakit?

  Kung puro siraan kc ang mangyayare parang feel ko walang magandang patutunguhan pero minsan nakakatulong din sa career  ng 1 rapper pag kalaban ka diba pero ako wala akong kaaway na rapper..hehehe 

CHUCKY:

Marquiz.." Pampagana E.P." review the methaporic rise of a man....

   Yeah sa unang pagkakataon sa blog na ito…gagawa ako ng review about sa isang album, mixxtape or EP/LP kung anu man twang nyo dun :). Kilala natin lahat si Loonie syempre….at si Don G malamang, at kung nasa Facebook kita malamang kilala nyo si Bugoy na Koykoy. Kilala sila sa paggamit ng MULTI RHYMES, PERFECT RHYMES at METAPHORS  . May isang rapper na taga

La Union  (Dilang Kanto) that uses this things like toys at naglabas sya ng EP for free download  CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD noong December sya ay si Marquiz. Eto ngayon ang akin opinion sa EP nya :). Sa beats, pagkakaalam ko si NaughtyDawg ang may sala sa mga beats na masarap sa tenga, sakto sa mga kanta, hindi yung beat na mapapakamot ka at sasabihin mo "taena bakit ganyan beat??hindi bagay” wala ni isa ang off beat .

   I've been a fan of the whole Dilang Kanto crew kasi yung mga combo nila,  perfect for each other na they compliment one another in means of talent kahit na magkakaiba sila ng style. Sa song na "Lipad" for example mas kalmado ang boses ni A-Twist bagay sa medyo mas rugged na boses ni Marquiz at banat nila dito ay naka kakalma..chill mode lng . Sa "Hindi ko kailangan" na song, maangas sya…ang lupit,bakit?? dito sa song na to pinakita nay na talagang sya ay "on a league of his own". Lyricism na napakalalim na hindi entertaining para sa mga mababaw ang isip. He is literally saying that he doesn't have to be cheesy para makilala at hindi rin naman bagay sa kanya magpaka babaw just to be noticed.
    Karaniwan kapag ang isang rapper o kahit singer kapag gumagawa ng love song eh lumalabas ang kanilang sensitive side at nagiging cheesy ang labas (opinion ko lang po yun) .  Ang mga kantang  "GRACE ","Ayaw ko Ng Tumama", "Hurt",at "when you smile" ay mga love song na yes..it shows the sensitive side of Marquiz pero damn….it would make you appreciate Marquiz as a "person" bakit???eh bakit hindi??pag hardcore ka mag rap o gangster dating hindi ka na ma iinlove?? suss!!!! Very emotional songs na andun parin yung “edge” nya…. Sa track na “Obserbasyon” medyo hindi ako natuwa :D don’t get me wrong…magandang skit na may freestyle something..pero narinig ko na kasi yung ganun…twice, dun sa album ng STICK FIGGAS at sa album ni Loonie. Nothing special there pero nakakatuwa kasi parang kilala ko yung tinatamaan dun :D. SA kantang “Ako nga pala si”..maganda rin syempre ang isang rapper dapat may kantang mag introduce sa kanila “My name is” ni Eminem “ako si Gloc9”  pati isang song ni Bugoy dati hindi ko maalala pamagat. Maganda yung song paa mapakilala nya sarili nya…pero sa title…mmm..generic..(sorry tol)
Sa kantang “Pinaka mahabang Intro” at “Pampagana” pag narinig definitely will remind you with a young Loonie na may konting Don G on the side…bakit?? Pakinggan nyo malalaman nyo. Sa mga kanta naming “dahil sa rap”, “breathe” ,“ready for love” ,“sa Entablado” makikita nyo bukod sa metaphors at lyricism nya eh yung pagmamahal nya sa Rap..corny??hindi..para sakin dapat ipapakita mo din sa kanta mo kung ano ang RAP para sayo,respeto mo hindi lang sa tao kundi sa musika mismo  at syempre ang kantang pinaka mabigat sa buong EP para sa akin “Abutin ang Tala feat Ckatorze” para sa akin etong dalawang to pag nabigyan ng pagkakataon…would definitely turn heads ngayong taon na to…Opportunity lang..isang shot bigyan nyo itong dalawa pupusta ako masasabi nyo na kasama sila sa “future” ng rap sa Pinas… 

   All in all para sa akin…malupit ang “Ang Pampagana E.P.” sa beats (naughtydawg wadap!!) lyricism, metaphors , you will have a glimpse of what the future of RAP in the Philippines would look like... peace out..opinyon ko lang mga to…hindi kayo agree?? Sorry kayo blog ko to!! hehehe ...

  With a win with the talent show Showtime and being a member of the wildcard on the Finals, Laguna Clan has a bright future ahead of them. What was it like competing in a national stage and what to expect for the year 2011 for the Laguna Clan...Ladies and gentlemen, Angel Boga ao Laguna Clan

CHUCKY:

  Ok guyz salamat sa  time..una sa lahat congrats sa pagsali nyo sa Showtime at sa pagpasok sa weekly finals at nasama sa wildcard. Anong klaseng experience para sa inyo ang showtime. Tingin nyo natulungan kayo nito??how? 

Angel Boga:

   Salamat Chucky.. ibang klase experience namin sa Showtimekc nakikipag kompetensya kami sa mga taong my ibat ibang talento e... this time nag explore kmi at sumali kami sa patimpalak pero ndi "rap contest"... malaki naitulong samin nito.. kahit papano nakikilala kami.. nakakatuwa nga kasi kinakanta na ng mga maliliit na bata ung "magbabago ang buhay mo"... tapos na-experience pa namin na batiin kmi ng mga taong hindi namin kilala... for me thats a great achievement.. ayun talag ang pinaka premyo namin sa showtime.. 

CHUCKY:

   Astig!!! Pano nga pala kayo napasali dun? At sino sino kayo sa Laguna Clan ang nakasali. 

Angel Boga:

   Napansin kasi namin na bukod s pag gawa lang ng kanta, kailangan nmin gumawa ng way upang mapansin ang kanta namin... isa sa pumasok sa isip namin ang Showtime.... ilang beses kami na turn down sa audition pero bumalik balik prin kami hanggang ntanggap... 4 groups kmi na mgkakasama bilang laguna clan sa showtime..DOWNERS(angel boga & mc chaww), hypeman ng downers na c rich bulahaw, B2DAEM (mordo, nino, wishstick, at syncro), BARICADE (rhaddmack, john p., kulas) at ung 3 ala pang name ung group nila kasi bago palng... dami kami members ng Laguna clan kaso konti lang kmi nakasama sa showtime dahl ngaaral at nagtatrabaho yung iba.. 

CHUCKY:

Madami kayong member sa Laguna Clan, pero kelan at pano nag start ang Laguna Clan? 

Angel Boga:

   Nagsimula ang Laguna clan nung 2001.. before ako sumali sa philippine Rap Olympics 1.. at nung nanalo kami, dumami na ng dumami... may nawawala bigla pero my pumapalit... now lang kmi nagkaroon ng pgkakataon gumawa ng mdaming songs dhl la pa kami sariling studio noon... 

CHUCKY:

   Sino sino mga unang member ng Clan? pati bakit nyo binuo ang Laguna Clan.

 

Angel Boga:

   Ang mga unang members ng laguna clan ay ang "innocentes", "el dorado", "sakuna ng laguna", "b2daem", "3buzz", "lil em", etc.. madami pa... kaso ndi na nagrarap ung iba ngayon.. pero suporta prin cla... binuo nmin ang laguna clan pra gawing pamilya ang mga grupo d2.. pra mgkaroon ng pgkakaisa at sumulong lht sa tulong ng mga projects.. 

CHUCKY:

   Bilang isang grupo..pano nyo matutulungan mga members nyo?? events? mixxtapes? 

Angel Boga:

   Yup... kasma ang lahat sa plano pra matulungan ang members.. from mixtapes, events, net exposures, etc.. ung iba na wala tlgng pambayad sa studio hindi ko na sinisingil bilang tulong sa member... 

CHUCKY:

   Pano naging affiliated ang Laguna Clan sa Dongalo? 

Angel Boga:

   Kasi hawak kami ni mad killah ng salbakutah... kung san sya, dun kami.. utang nmin lahat to sa Dongalo.. at sa events padin ng Dongalo kami madalas pumupunta... 

CHUCKY:

Dito sa Pinas...para sa inyo....ano ang Dongalo sa Rap?? 

Angel Boga:

   Para samin, ang Dongalo sa rap ay ang puno't dulo ng lahta... kaya nagsulputan ang ibang rap labels e dahil sa gusto nila maging katulad ng Dongalo.. at kahit itanggi nila, alam nila na hindi sila magiging mas higit o kahit ka lebel man lang ng Dongalo... natatawa nga lng ako sa mga baguhan na tumitira sa Dongalo e.. nakikisawsaw sa isyu o away ng iba pra mkilala din sila.. for me that's the wrong way of getting attention.. sa ibang salita, BULOK... =)

   Tama...Pero in your own word...Possible ba mag ka pangalan dito sa Pinas ng walang titirahin/beef?? Posible ba musika muna bago beef?kasi sa nakikita ko..gagwa muna ng beef para mapansin saka na sila gagawa ng kanta nila... 

Angel Boga:

   Sa tingin ko lahat ng artists, kahit hindi rappers, kaya sumikat sa pamamagitan lng ng songs na ginagawa nila ng walang tirahan na nagaganap.. yung mga tao na ginagamit ang beef para mgka pangalan ay pwede ntin tawaging "immature artists"... kasi ginagamit lang nila ang name ng mga tinitira nila e.. it means, ala silang tiwala sa sarili nilang kakayahan.. kailangan pa nila ng controversy para makilala.. sa tingin q thats totally immature.. baguhin na sana yan.. at yung mga taong nakikinig, wag na sana sila makisawsaw kung hindi nila alam ang totoong istorya ng beef.. lalo lng kasi lumalaki.. my mga sumusuporta pa sa mali.. pwede ntin silang tawaging "immature listeners"... hehehe!

   Gaya ng pinarating nmin sa lahat nung performance nmin s showtime, "wag mong isiping hindi mo kaya"... lahat tau my karapatang mangarap at maaabot mo lamang un kng maniniwala ka... kng anu man ang maitutulong nmin, ibibigay nmin yan...

   Ang totoo? Hindi ko alam kung bakit RABIS! basta naipangalan nalang sa grupo..PINANGATAWANAN nalang namin...dalawa kami ng pinsan ko nagtayo ng RABIS...parehas kaming RAPPER...Ang AGENDA ng RABIS is to unite different groups na naka'base dito sa BULACAN...We're operating since JAN.,1998! Medyo LOW PROFILE lang po kami...but its good,kasi isa un sa mga main objective ng grupo,?yung hindi SUMIKAT...

  Isa pa pala...sa pag freestyle ..dun nakilala ang Rabis Agenda ano masasabi nyo kasi ngayon talagang nakikilala ang fliptop pero madami nagsasabi na hindi naman talaga freestyle yun?

  Well?para sa'kin?aminado ako na nakatulong talaga ng malaki ang FLIPTOP sa HIPHOP scene especially this year(2010)..madaming mga bar n tumanggap sa mga gigs n of course hiphop related din naman..SINUSUPORTAHAN ko bilang hiphop!pero KINOKONDENA ko bilang isang RAPPER! kagaya nga ng nasabi mo at nasasabi ng karamihan?hindi natin RAMDAM yung espiritu ng TOTOONG FREESTYLE sa paraang ginagawa nila!

   Kilala din ang Rabis Agenda din sa pagiging affiliated sa Dongalo at may ilang mga collaboration din kayo sa mga Dongalo artists. Ano para sa inyo ang Dongalo pag dating sa RAP dito sa Pinas?

YAN-E:

   DONGALO sa PILIPINAS? Of course?Walang katulad! ang matinding agimat kase namen?"MERON KAMING KUYA" meron kaming ulo na kinikilala at sinusunod...
Siguro meron lang makikilala?pero walang makakahiget sa DONGALO! at? "WALA NG BABAET KAY ANDREW E."
in terms of RAPpin? MAS KINIKILALA't nirerespeto dito sa PINAS at sa ibayong-DAGAT!

   As a unit, ano ang ginagawa ng Rabis Agenda para makatulong sa RAP sa Pinas at para sa mga members nyo...like events or mixxtapes?

YAN-E:

   We're organizing events,para yung mga newbies makapagparticipate at kahit papano marecognize at maipakita n din nila yung talent nila sa RAPpin.,sa ganung way?i am making moves!at di ko masasabi sa sarili ko na naging walang saysay ang pagiging rapper ko sa ibang may pangarap makapagpamalas ng talent sa RAP..
  Nakapaglabas n din kami ng mga mixxtape d2 sa Bulacan at nagkaroon na din ng chansang makapaglabas ng isang mixxtape under Dongalo Wreckords.. 

CHUCKY:

   Simula nung binuo nyo ang Rabis Agenda sa tingin nyo natupad nyo na yung agenda nyo na to unite mga rappers dyan sa Bulacan?

YAN-E:

   Every events na ino'organize ko? nagkakasama'sama ang mga GANG AT FRAT dito sa area ko.,may mga FRATWARS at GANGWARS din dito sa bulacan..Pero ang ipinagmamalaki ko?sa twing may p'RAP events ako?NAWAWALA ang ALITAN or kung anumang GAP meron sila.,Natatapos ang events ng mapayapa! nakilala ang RABIS?at ang bawat RAPPER na nagre'represent sa mga gang/frat ay sumasapi sa RABIS ang KARAMIHAN..
Sa laki ng BULACAN? masasabi kong nasa 50% palang ako..pero ang pintuan ay hindi ko sinasara para sa mga nangangailangan ng aking suporta..BUKAS ang RABIS para sa mga RAPPERS na kahit papano ay gustong magkaron ng karanasan sa pagtatanghal ng RAP at makaranas ng kahit papano'y SAMAHAN ng maliit na parte ng MUNDO ng HIPHOP dito sa BULACAN..
Hanggang sa ngayon?ang AGENDA ng RABIS ay patuloy o kasalukuyan ko pa din na pinagsusumikapang MATUPAD...

   Balita na mag reretiro ka na raw sa RAP? Masasabi mo ba na naka ambag ka o nakatulong in any way sa Rap o hip hop sa Pinas?? May mga tao kasi na sinasabi "rapper ako" gagawa ng kanta,,,tapos na...Bilang isang beterano na tinitingala ng mga baguhan lalo dyan sa Bulacan sa tingin mo may responsibilitad ka din ba sa RAP at sa mga nakikinig nito?

YAN-E:

I think so,PERO bago ang lahat?tama din naman na gumawa ka muna ng kanta,para mas may maniwala sayo.,Pero?hindi dapat dun nagtatapos yun!ako kc?kahit papano naman meron akong mga tao na personal na nagabayan,nahubog at nabahagian ng kung anuman ang naabot ko sa industriya nato.,mga taong mas kinikilala o mas nakatataas na sa akin sa ngayon(Dun naman kc ako mas natutuwa,kapag mayroon akong tao na napapa'angat..)

Higanteng Munti...my conversation with Chico Loco of M-Style

  Muntinlupa is known for .....well sa kulungan dun :D..Pero may isang grupo dun that has been dominating Munti for years..M-Style is a group of rappers based on Muntinlupa. With a group like " THUGRHYME"    na nakasama na din hindi lang sa mga compilation albums from Dongalo kundi sa Rapublic din ng the late great Francis Magalona. Here is my conversation wit Chico Loco of Thug Rhyme

   Maraming salamat sa oras at panahon Chico Loco...una sa lahat congratulation  sa pagkakasama nyo sa Bridge 2 album...nakasama na kayo sa RAPUBLIC compilation ng the late great Francis M. at ilang album/compilation na nakasama kayo sa Dongalo..ano pinagkaiba ng Bridge 2 sa mga nsamahan nyong mga album/conpilations?

Chico Loco:
 

    Hahahah pare parehas naman lahat magaganda at matitindi yung nasamahan namin...ang pag kakaiba lang ng Bridge 2 eh dadalhin sa Japan at may mga rapper na isasama doon sa Japan.. at pinag gastusan ito ng hapon.. at may mga kasama international rapper 7 group na Japanesse rapper. kasama mag perform sa stage 25 city ata ang kakantahan namin kung makakasama kami sa Japan.. at bihira ito.. swerte lang talaga kung mapili ka.. pero basta kasama ka naman sa compilation ng Dongalo eh masaya talaga.. pero ito grabe gastos dito.. sobrang lake.. at polido dapat at liriks hindi basta basta kasi pag kakataon muna ito makilala sa ibang bansa.. kasi ang bawat liriks nito eh sinala dinala pa sa Japan.. at pina translate kung pwede.. at ibabalik dito para ulitin kung hindi pwede.. mins talagang polido at sala..

    This is how our started.. first we all meet at town center where in we always stay almost every day whenever we have nothing to do, that was 1994. we cant forget that time and place because that made us build at group,were in we all have the same attitude and dreams in life, becoming an artist someday, until now were still together,helping each other in all ways,sometimes, we encounter problems difficulties,and short comings,but we see to it before the day ends up. its already solve and we see to it that it will not destroy our good friendship and we"ll not loose someone.

we are all party goers. we always attend parties, go to disco house,that became our friendship more tight and stronger felling like a big family! we all love listening to rap musik both international and local like hits ...of TUPAC SHAKUR,NAUGTY BY NATURE,KEITH MURRAY,ANDREW E. and almost everything that involve in industry of hiphop,and that made us interested to the point that we learned how to rap. we always about the things we see feel and hear..

there was a time at las pinas were in we join underground rap contest,we just want to prove to ourselves in that were capable of and its the perfect time to show of some skills of ours.We've put our very best in that competition unfortunately there was other group that better in rapping than us. Winning the first place is really not a big deal for us, but still we got the talent 3rd runner up, proving to ourselves that we got the talent and improve. practice is our motto at that time, and that contest became the first opportunity until second opportunities came, by guesting to barangay, schools and malls.that was time that decided to join the industry of rap. and that time reviving and R and B type are in fashion and that made us difficult to adjust underground to R and B style, but we bare in our minds that....We can do it! if others can,,,, why can"t we! we join the first PHIL,RAP OLYMPICS of ANDREW E..and like that old days,we are not that lucky, but we never give up this time we joined the first RAP PUBLIC rap contest,held in EAT BULAGA GMA channel 7, and by the blessing of our GOD almighty we are one of the grand finalist,, after the contest on eat bulaga, many invitation comes,some are provincial tours with MACPROD,and other artist, and then time comes we joined the DONGALO RAP ARTIST of mr, Andrew E, CEO of Dongalo, and because of that mr, ANDREW E, includes our song to his album, SANTA KLAWS. after that experienced, we build a group a rap artist named '' MUNTINLUPA STYLE'' and up to now, we still continue helping some of the first time rappers, our population grows up to 228 members and until now, we continue composing own original songs, and we dont know what comes next

We are "" THUGRHYME"" we derive our groups name first '' THUG'' for ourvelves in our different situations in life.....then we got the "RHYME" from the black, putting the two words together became our group name. 

MUNTINLUPA STYLE created since 2002, there are 4 respected rappers who combine their brain to create the hood here in muntinlupa.. there names are CHiCO LOCO,MOKS,EARLEE G., & 2-JAY.. there given the name of muntinlupa style co'z here in muntinlupa all the rappers or crew have ther own style not just in the trend but in the way of how they rap how they show ther skills.. originally group of muntinlupa style are 4. ther name are the black gang, delinquentes, karizmah, & thugrhyme.. and we are not expected that this crew was being succesfull as they are ryt now and now muntinlupa style is getting hot and still no. 1 all my crew from old to new crew I salute u homs.. and I respect all my hood.. this is not a gang this is a family a home for all the rappers who dream to become an artist.. so keep it up the good work.. much respect.. go straigth and achive ur goal my homs..

    Wow haba :D ...so ang MSTYLE is more than a group of rappers kundi family din? Masasabi nyo bang MSTYLE ang DOMINANT group dyan sa Muntinlupa?

    Mstyle ang unang grupo at familyang rapper dito sa Muntinlupa.. mahati hati man ito.. at maging 3 na pangalan.. sa muntinlupa mstyle parin galing.. dun parin sila kumuwa ng lakas ng loob..

   Saka hindi na kayang burahin ang pangalan ng mstyle dito.. mamatay man lahat ng mstyle.. nakakatatak at history na sila ng muntinlupa.. 

hindi lang kasi sa muntinlupa may mstyle.. ang mstyle sa laguna,cavite at batangas at ibat ibang bansa..

about being a Dongalo soldier..anu naman say mo sa mga kampo na panay ang tira sa Dongalo? Bilang sundalo ng Dongalo ano ba dapat gawin o moves na dapat gawin para ipagtanggol ang kampo?

    Isa lang yan.. wag mo pansinin ang tumitira sayo.. wala ka mapapala dun.. ang pagiging musikero eh wala sa talin ng dila..hindi sa dami ng nagawa mong kanta.. hindi din sa tapang ng mga sinasabi mo sa kanta.. kundi sa pakikisama at respeto sa mga kasama at ka grupo po.. ituloy mo lang ang lahat ng opurtunity na dumadating sayo.. tuloy tuloy yan.. isang malaking ganti sa kalaban yun kung hindi mo sila pinapansin at umaangat ka na nakikita ka nila...
